Coronavirus: Measures and restrictions in Madrid: when will it be known if the December bridge closes?

The Community of Madrid is working on the restrictions that it will apply during the next bridge of the Constitution, which will begin on Saturday, December 5 and will run until Tuesday, December 8. The government of the region will announce on Friday the new measures that will come into force and if it finally proceeds to apply the perimeter closure of the region.

This is how the Minister of Health, Enrique Ruiz Escudero, advanced this Wednesday after the Government Council was held. “We will try to announce it this Friday for the decisions to be made regarding mobility”, he claimed.

Escudero alluded to the need to rigorously study the situation that Madrid is going through before deciding on new measures, despite the positive evolution of the pandemic in the community in recent times. “They will be prudential measures due to the uniqueness of the December bridge”, advanced the Minister of Health, who assured that “it is just at this time when greater mobility to Madrid is detected than from Madrid to the outside.

Likewise, The head of Health in the Community of Madrid added that on Friday the next steps of the strategy will be communicated by basic health areas, before the end of the restrictions imposed until November 22.

“Madrid is going to be strict”

The deputy minister of Public Health and the Covid-19 Plan of the Community of Madrid, Antonio Zapatero, also did not reveal whether the perimeter closure will take place during the Constitution bridge, as happened in the previous two, but assured that the measures that will be applied will continue being severe. “Madrid is going to be strict and is going to continue adopting prudent measures and trying to put measures in place so that the virus does not develop”, said.

Further, The Government chaired by Isabel Díaz Ayuso is working on the plan that will be applied in the community during Christmas, as Enrique Ruiz Escudero has advanced in his appearance this Wednesday. Specifically, the Minister of Health has advanced that they are already “finalizing a strategy” for these dates.
