Coronavirus.- Argentina registers 261 deaths and 9,608 positives from coronavirus in 24 hours


Argentina has registered 261 new deaths this Friday and 9,608 positives from coronavirus detected in the last 24 hours, according to the health authorities.

With these figures, the South American country has detected a total of 1,359,042 cases so far of pandemic, of which 1,177,819 have recovered.

Likewise, with the deaths registered this Friday, the total number of deaths has risen to 36,790.

So far, 4,187 people remain hospitalized for the disease, according to the . agency, which has indicated that the occupation of intensive care beds is 60.7 percent in the Buenos Aires metropolitan area and 57.6 percent in the rest of the country.


The Minister of Education, Nicolás Trotta, has indicated in a radio interview that face-to-face education “will be” the norm during 2021 and has recognized the “impact” on the education of the youngest that the pandemic has caused.

Trotta has stressed that the classes will not “be as they were before” and has celebrated that more than 250,000 children in the country already have some form of presence in the classrooms.

Likewise, the minister has indicated that “a massive school dropout” was not detected during the months since the confinement in the country began on March 20 and the classrooms were closed.
