Colombia reports 2,212,525 cases of COVID-19 and 58,334 deaths

The Colombian Ministry of Health reported this Thursday that the death toll from
Covid-19 reached 58,334 and that cases increased to 2,212,525.

In the last day it was reported that the pandemic left 200 new deaths of people between 25 and 100 years of age.

The ministry reported 4,824 new infections in the national territory, 42,102 active cases and 2,105,445 of recovered.

This Thursday, 46,302 tests were reported and Bogotá is once again at the top of the list of regions with the most cases of Covid-19, followed by Valle, Antioquia, Cundinamarca, Córdoba, Santander, Boyacá and Barranquilla.

Meanwhile, Colombian President Iván Duque attended the first vaccination day in Barranquilla at the « Adelita de Char » University Hospital where he reiterated the Government’s intention to immunize 70 percent of the population and achieve collective immunity in the minor possible time.

« We want many more and many more vaccines to be applied every day until we have this great exponential dynamic in the coming weeks, » he said.
