Colombia reported 4,476 more cases of the new Coronavirus (cause of the disease Covid-19) and 177 deaths, bringing the total number of infections to 2,217,001 and the number of deaths to 58,511.

According to that portfolio, of the 177 deaths reported on Friday, 151 belong to deaths from previous days, but they had not been registered at the time.
Most of the new infections occurred in Bogotá (center), 1,124, Antioquia (northwest), 679, and Valle del Cauca (southwest), 524.
A good part of the deaths registered on the day corresponded to older adults, who suffered from medical preexistence that was aggravated by the virus.
The data on Friday established from 50,027 tests, of which 31,022 were PCR and 19,005 antigens and which were evaluated by the state National Institute of Health (INS), which to date has processed 11,083,972 samples.
This information also allowed determining that the number of recovered in the last hours was 5,117, with which a total of 2,110,562 people have come out of the disease, while 41,237 cases are active throughout the country.
Bogotá, with 648,712 cases today, remains the city with the highest number of infections since the first positive was known in the country, on March 6, 2020.
By department, Antioquia (northwest) tops the list of infections with 338,935, followed by Valle del Cauca (southwest), 191,789; Atlantic (north), 121,100; Cundinamarca (center), 103,738; Santander (northeast), 89,269, and by Bolívar (north), with 66,237 cases.
The Ministry of Health also reported that until Friday afternoon, Colombia applied 22,149 Vaccines, after starting his immunization plan on Wednesday.
The latest data from the World Health Organization (WHO), revealed on Friday, indicate that in the world there are 109,997,288 confirmed cases of contagion and 2,435,145 deaths from Covid-19.
Since March 11, 2020, the WHO qualifies the disease as a pandemic Covid-19, caused by the new Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2, first detected in late 2019.
