City on the trail of a Uruguayan striker

The management of Manchester City would have activated the track of the center-forward of Benfica, Darwin Núñez, in anticipation of the next summer transfer window.

Beaten by Tottenham, this Saturday evening, without having scored a single goal (2-0), Pep Guardiola’s team is sorely lacking in new blood in attack. Repeated injuries of Sergio Aguero and the misforms of the other offensive elements of the Skyblues at the start of the season led the Mancuniens to a modest 11th place in the ranking of Premier League. Aware of the problem, Manchester City scouts began looking for a new scorer.

According to information from the Telegraph, the Citizens are very interested in the profile of the Uruguayan striker, Darwin Núñez. Author of a very good start to the season at Benfica Lisbon, where he arrived this summer from Almeria, the 21-year-old center forward is considered one of the revelations of the Portuguese championship.

Big competition for Núñez

With five goals scored and six assists offered in just 11 games in all competitions, Darwin Núñez is already in the sights of several European leaders. Inter Milan and FC Barcelona would have inquired about the striker trained in Penarol in Uruguay. We must therefore expect a big battle for the native of Artigas next summer.
