Chile reports 2,330 cases and 15 more deaths from COVID-19 in one day

The Chilean Ministry of Health reported 2,330 cases and 15 more deaths due to the disease of the new
Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours, for a total of 743,306 infections and 19,659 deaths since the first infected registered in the South American country on March 3, 2020.

In its daily report, the Health Ministry added that to date 743,306 people have recovered from the Covid-19 and 20,958 remain active.

The Chilean Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, said in a statement that « infections are decreasing, but we must be cautious and continue to take care of ourselves, maintaining all self-care measures. »

Chile faces an outbreak of cases of Covid-19 since last December, but health authorities reported on Wednesday a 15 percent decrease in patients nationwide in the last two weeks. Likewise, in 14 regions of the country, cases have decreased in the same period.

Regarding the traceability of the virus, the results of 24,914 PCR tests were reported, with a positivity of 9.35 percent, to add 8,834,416 million tests analyzed since the beginning of the health crisis in Chile.
