Mexican driver Sergio Pérez has just confirmed that his relationship with the team will end at the end of this 2020 season. With this announcement, the man from Guadalajara is ruled out to be part of Aston Martin for next year, leaving Sebastian Vettel on a silver platter to the project.

Here is the letter addressed to the press and its fans:

“Hi all:

Everything always has a beginning and an end, and after seven years together my cycle with the team will come to an end at the end of the season.

Personally, it hurts because I bet a lot for the team in very difficult moments; they managed to get ahead and I am proud to have saved the work of many of my colleagues.

I keep the memories of the great moments we lived together, the friendships and the satisfaction of always having given my best.

I will always be grateful for the opportunity given to me by Vijay Mallya, who believed in me in 2014 and allowed me to continue my F1 career with Force India.

I wish the current administration, led by Lawrence Stroll, the best of success in the coming years, especially with the Aston Martin project.

I do not have a plan B, my idea is of course to continue here, but as long as a project is presented that motivates me to continue giving 100 percent in each lap.

I thank each one of you who have been with me throughout these 10 years.

To my family, who have always been there to support me through thick and thin. To all the sponsors who have believed in my project, to my staff and mainly to God, who blessed me with the opportunity to live this incredible adventure called F1.

I hope to give you good news soon and for now let’s enjoy these next races together.

I take them with me! “, concluded the letter.

Now Sergio Pérez enters the F1 driver market, having the Haas and Alfa Romeo teams as an option.
