Sergio Pérez, who is still looking to sign with a team to continue in Formula 1 in 2021, assured that he feels prepared to race in a hierarchical team, but if he had to leave the Championship of the highest category of motorsport, I would do it with my head held high.
Checo Pérez will terminate his contract with Racing Point and in recent days he has been linked with Red Bull, against which, the Jalisco revealed his desire to demonstrate his quality with a large team and forget his unpleasant passage through McLaren, where he arrived when the team faced a technical debacle.
After 10 years (in F1) the level of maturity, knowledge, experience is higher. I am such a different driver, definitely much more prepared, said the Mexican in an interview broadcast on the Formula 1 website.
During his time at Racing Point, former Force India, Pérez helped the British team to finish a couple of times in fourth place in the constructors ‘championship, and in the drivers’ championship, in seventh place, considered the best of the rest of the the top teams.
Sergio acknowledged that if he does not find a seat next year it could not be considered an injustice.
I always knew that it is. I can call myself a privileged person. I’ve had a great career, 10 years in Formula 1 so far, he added.
Checo was forceful in pointing out that if he does not find a team and had to leave the Gran Circo, he could do so with his head held high, since he has nine podiums in the last eight years.
