Miley Cyrus and her approach with Stevie Nicks
It is nothing new that Miley Cyrus expresses her taste for the work of Fleetwood Mac and everything that has to do with its members. During the Bangerz Tour 2014, the singer played the song “Landslide” and since then he has sung it in various concerts.
With those credentials, Miley decided a couple of months ago to express her special admiration by the vocalist of Fleetwood Mac, Stevie nicks. Only that time it was no longer a cover of a band song, but a classic of the solo stage of the renowned Stevie.
Thus, Miley resorted to a sample of the classic “Edge of Seventeen”, song originally released in 1981 as part of Nicks’ debut solo album Bella Donna. Cyrus even detailed in an interview with Jimmy Fallon – collected by Variety – that she had expressly asked the Fleetwood Mac member if she allowed her to use her song as starting point to compose “Midnight Sky”.
“I have another melody if you don’t want me to pay tribute to you, to your greatness and how much you have inspired me” Miley told Stevie in her request. Nicks didn’t hold back and agreed saying that “You can ask me at any time”.
