Charlotte Perrelli and Tusse, qualified from the third semifinal

The preselection of the Swedish representative is one of the most important that takes place before the Eurovision Song Contest 2021. Sweden is one of the great rivals of recent editions, for this reason the Melodifestivalen, the national gala that is held for choose the next standard-bearer for the country. For the moment, the third semi-final was held on February 20 where Charlotte Perrelli and Tusse managed to reach the final in Stockholm thanks to the public vote. Both join the rest of the finalists of the 61st edition: Dotter, Anton Ewald, Danny Saucedo and Arvingarna.

Perrelli is an experienced performer at the festival. The artist managed to win Eurovision 1999. Nine years later, he returned to win a second time in 2008. Although he tried to return to the Eurovision stage during the semi-finals of 2017 and 2012, he has finally managed to make a dent in the final of the Melofifestivalen 2021 with his « Still Young ». Tusse is a singer who recently won the ‘Idol’ show and went a long way on the Swedish ‘Got Talent’ too.

As if that were not enough, his song « Voices » overtook Dotter in the bets reaching number one. During the third semifinal, Álvaro Estrella and Klara Hammarstrom were in third and fourth place, but their opportunity has not ended because they will have the possibility of being caught during the « Andra Chansen ». The representative who comes out of the national final will have to defend his issue in the first semi-final of Eurovision 2021 to be held on May 18, 20 and 22 at the Ahoy in Rotterdam, Netherlands.
