Cyberpunk 2077 went from being one of the most anticipated releases of the generation to one of the maximum disappointments of it. This since its version for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One lacks an acceptable performance. Given this, CD Projekt RED decided to offer an apology to its consumers and open up a bit.

Through a video that he shared on social networks, CD Projekt RED stood up and apologized to the community for delivering a different product than what they expected. In the message, Marcin Iwiński, co-founder of CD Projekt RED, assured that the situation is the responsibility of the executive group of the study and that his talented team is not to blame for this situation.

“Thanks to our legacy based on honest communication, they trusted us and pre-bought our game, and despite the good reviews for the PC version, the console version of Cyberpunk 2077 did not meet the quality standard we wanted to achieve. . The management team as a whole, and myself, we deeply feel it and this video wants to publicly accredit it ”, explained the manager.

In the video he also promised to fix Cyberpunk 2077, ensuring that they are already working on different updates. The first will be patch 1.1, which will arrive sometime in the next 10 days. A few weeks later, a second patch will be available.

An important point is that CD Projekt RED claims that it was unaware that the version for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One of Cyberpunk 2077 was in such bad condition. As they explain, several of the problems that the players encountered in the RPG were not present in its testing phase. In fact, they believed that the first update for Cyberpunk 2077 would make it debut without major problems.

Why is Cyberpunk 2077 going so bad on PS4 and Xbox One?

Both in the video and in a post on its blog, CD Projekt RED decided to explain what were the reasons why Cyberpunk 2077 was left to duty on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The first thing the study made clear is that there is a huge difference between the console version and the PC version since they wanted the latter to look spectacular. So they concentrated on developing it for this platform and then tuned it to consoles.

“Cyberpunk 2077 has a huge focus, it features a multitude of custom objects, interacting systems and mechanics. In the game things are not on flat ground where we can make it consume less power from the hardware, without condensation in a huge city and relatively free of charges. We made it even tougher by first making the PC version look epic and then adjusting it to consoles. That was what we assumed. And things didn’t seem super difficult at first. Although we knew the hardware difference, in the end, time showed that we underestimated the task, “explained the study.

But what was it that caused so much trouble? CD Projekt RED attributes this to constantly having to improve their streaming system for last generation consoles. This system is responsible for feeding the engine with everything you see on the screen and the operation of the game mechanics. The problem was caused by the limited bandwidth of the older generation base consoles.

And to you, what did you think of the words of CD Projekt RED? Do you trust that with the passage of time Cyberpunk 2077 will be a project that will satisfy the subject? Tell us in the comments.
