CD Projekt RED, the company that brought us games like The Witcher: Wild Hunt, has a long history that started as a game distributor. Others emerged from that company and today one of them filed for bankruptcy. This is CDP.
According to Polish media CDaction, CDP filed for bankruptcy after a long time in a difficult situation. The last nail in the coffin for this dealer after the Cyberpunk 2077 delay, as he was no longer responsible for distributing it in Poland.
It is worth mentioning that CD Projekt RED was separated from CDP since 2014 thanks to a management acquisition process (that is, the management team bought the study). However, the origins of both companies were linked.
In addition, it must be recognized that the work that CDP carried out as a distributor left a mark. After all, it was one of the pioneers in the gaming market in Poland and stood out for its quality physical editions. Also, its existence allowed CD Projekt RED to be what it is today.
Quiet, CD Projekt RED is in good condition
As you read that CDP filed for bankruptcy, you have probably been concerned about CD Projekt RED and GOG.com. However, the reality is that you can rest easy: both the Polish studio and its DRM-free game store are in good condition.

As we mentioned before, CD Projekt RED and CDP have been separate companies since 2014. So the operations of the team behind The Witcher: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077 have nothing to do with the company that filed for bankruptcy.
Furthermore, it is important to note that CD Projekt RED is in a very favorable situation. Remember that just a few months ago it was reported that it is one of the video game companies that has grown the most in recent years. It is also considered to be the second most valuable video game company in Europe.
