Bluepoint Games reveals the reason behind the absence of ray-tracing in Demon’s Souls

Demon’s Souls It is available now on PS5. However, this title lacks one of the most impressive visual aspects of the new generation, namely ray-tracing. Although this information had already been shared long ago, Bluepoint Games, the people in charge of this work, have revealed the reason behind this absence.

In a recent interview with Digital Foundry, developers at Bluepoint Games have revealed that they did not include ray-tracing in the Demon’s Souls remake, because they simply did not have the necessary workers. Similarly, it is mentioned that, in the case of having implemented this technology, some aspects would have been left out.

While Bluepoint Games doesn’t specifically mention it, it seems like ray-tracing could be added later if they give it the go-ahead to get the job done. Similarly, The developers have mentioned that they weren’t using the full power of the PS5 for Demon’s Souls and there is much more room for optimization.
