Barcelona give up two points at home to Cádiz

The FC Barcelona (3º) did not happen of the tie (1-1) in the Camp Nou before the recently promoted Cádiz, this Sunday on the 24th date of the League, and he missed the opportunity to place himself three points behind Real Madrid (2nd).

Five days after his disappointment against Paris SG in the Champions League (4-1), Barcelona chained a new mediocre performance: the culés opened the scoring thanks to a penalty scored by Leo Messi (32), but Cádiz, who had already defeated Barça in the first leg, matched with another penalty converted by Álex Fernández (88) .

The set led by Ronald Koeman is thus far from the leader Atlético de Madrid, from which they separate 7 points, after the ‘Colchonero’ team lost at home on Saturday against Levante.

Ultra dominator of the game, Barça saw two goals disallowed for offside before the break (Frenkie De Jong in 39, and Pedri in 44).

With his goal from eleven meters Messi caught up with his old Uruguayan teammate Luis Suárez at the top of the scorers table, both with 16 goals.

With 60 goals scored from 73 penalties in the League, Messi is one goal away from the historical record of his great rival Cristiano Ronaldo, who had scored 61 of 72 during his time at Real Madrid (2009-2018).

This Sunday another three matches of the Spanish first division are played, leaving Sevilla’s visit to Osasuna for Monday. If the Andalusians take all three points, they will be placed third ahead of Barça.
