The Puerto Rican urban artist Bad Bunny has been included in the cast and will be one of the executive producers of the film American Sole, and in whose group of producers the American comedian Kevin Hart and the basketball player Chris Paul stand out.
According to the website Deadline.com published on Wednesday, some actors who will participate in the film are Pete Davidson, a member of the cast of the television program Saturday Night Live; O’Shea Jackson Jr, eldest son of legendary American rapper Ice Cube; Camila Mendes, and rapper Offset.
The film is directed by Ian Edelman, who has already had experience directing other Puerto Rican actors, among them, Luis Guzmán, in the film Puerto Ricans in Paris (Puerto Ricans in Paris).
“We are very excited about the way the cast is coming in, and excited that Bad Bunny is in the movie,” said Fogelson, president of STXfilms Motion Picture Group.
“As an actor,” making a mention of Benito Martínez -Bad Bunny’s first name-, “will provide incredible entertainment value, but with real authenticity in his role.”
Bad Bunny, who will have a supporting role in American Sole, will make his acting debut in a movie.
This third season will be set in the 90s when the drug business began to globalize.
American Sole is about two young men in their twenties, Davidson and Jackson, burdened with college debts, start selling athletic shoes and whose sales bring them huge profits by achieving the “American dream.”
However, their small business begins to have financial problems and a suspicious investor is who they believe is their trump card, the dream quickly turns into a nightmare.
In addition to Hart, under his production company HartBeat, and Paul and his company Ohh Dip !!!, and Jake Stein, from Scondo Productions.
Likewise, alongside Bad Bunny as executive producer will be Bryan Smiley, from HartBeat.
Bad Bunny, on the other hand, will participate on Thursday in the Latin Grammy ceremony, where the Puerto Rican artist is nominated for nine awards.
