Science, fiction and an infinite imagination. The eighth edition of the Episode celebrates the date that every lover of nerd culture celebrates annually.

Randomly chosen, May 25 is Towel Day. A tribute to Douglas Adams, author of the book series ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’, which became a film in 2005. On the pages, he unveils the innumerable uses of the accessory and synthesizes nerdy culture well, with space travel, scientific challenges and a refined humor.

Many of these elements are reflected in ‘Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency’, series BBC America in partnership with Netflix, also based on books by Adams. In common, tasteless protagonists catapulted to the fantastic by mysterious and unpredictable characters. The distinction is due to the plot: Dirk Gently is a detective who tries to solve an enigmatic crime and surrounded by oddities.

Another landmark of geek culture is ‘Star Wars’, which enters this Episode through the success of Disney ‘The Mandalorian’ – or ‘The Mandalorian’, in Portuguese. Fruit of the expansion of the universe of the space saga, the series tells the story of an unusual bounty hunter who is faced with the newest darling of the internet, Baby Yoda. The doll even won series production.

In the series ‘The Mandalorian’, or ‘The Mandalorian’, Baby Yoda is simply called ‘the child’
