The coronavirus continues to be the main protagonist at the start of the preseason for Spanish clubs. The last to report positives for COVID-19 in its workforce has been the Athletic Club de Bilbao, which has confirmed a total of six cases among its staff members.

«Among the results of these tests there are six positives, which are already isolated in their respective homes and will undergo a new PCR test next week. The cases have been communicated to the competent health authorities ”, the Basque club announced in a statement.

In addition, Athletic has pointed out that the preseason will begin with individual training sessions as a safety measure against the spread of the virus: «Following the guidelines set by LaLiga, the team’s training sessions – it is scheduled that Thursday afternoon will be the first- will start individually. In addition, as established in the protocol, a new PCR test will be carried out on all the negatives this coming Friday ».
