After a long wait, a wish for YouTube users on Xbox has just been fulfilled. What happens is that this application already has HDR support on consoles of this brand.

As announced by Google, a new version of the YouTube application for Xbox adds HDR support. This means that users with an Xbox One S; Xbox One X; Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X will be able to use the app to view videos with high dynamic range images.

But what about the original Xbox One model? This last generation console lacks HDR support. This is why you did not receive this option from YouTube.

What is HDR?

In case you didn’t know, HDR is an image format known as high dynamic range images. It is intended to reproduce a greater range of brightness than is possible with standard recording techniques.

In more practical terms, HDR content allows you to enjoy images with more color and a higher level of brightness. To give you an idea, you can search for one of the many HDR videos that are available on YouTube.

Of course, it is important that you keep in mind that to enjoy HDR content you need 2 things. The first is a device capable of playing this content, as are the most recent Xbox and PlayStation consoles. The other is an image that you can display.

And to you, what did you think of this option? Are you excited to watch HDR videos on YouTube? Tell us in the comments.
