While she campaigns to have the murder of her brother Adama recognized during a strong arrest by the police, Assa Traoré now accuses the police of having killed her cousin after a chase.

New twist in the Adama Traoré affair. While his sister, Assa Traoré, has campaigned for four years to have it recognized that the intervention methods of the police killed his brother during a muscular arrest in July 2016, a video posted on Facebook shows the young woman accuse the police of having caused the death of another member of her family.

Assa Traoré’s cousin died on September 14, 2020, after having thrown himself into the Seine near Bougival, in the Yvelines, to escape an arrest of the police.

According to Le Parisien, the 35-year-old father was a suspected two-wheeler thief, caught red-handed.

Assa Traoré calls for witnesses

Shortly after the drama, Adama Traore’s sister appeared in a video posted on Facebook and let it be known that the deceased was none other than his cousin. Angry, we can hear the activist accuse the police of deliberately killing him and violently attack an officer:

There is my cousin who was killed by the police.

The Truth For Adama committee, which does not believe the police officers’ version, launched a call to witness in order to shed light on the circumstances of Mahamadou’s death, who was the father of two children.

According to the Parisian article, a resident called the police in the night of September 13th to 14th, after finding suspicious individuals in a street in Marly-le-Roi. Arrived on site, the BAC police surprised criminals chargingt a motorcycle in a van. A chase was then immediately engaged, until the driver stopped the vehicle before fleeing on foot.

Recognized later on the banks of the Seine, the suspect threw himself into the river in the hope of escaping his arrest. Reassembled by a policeman, Assa Traoré’s cousin could not be revived, despite the efforts of Samu and firefighters.

The IGPN has launched an investigation and should soon issue a report. In the meantime, Assa Traoré is more than determined to deliver a new fight.
