The Archbishop of Yucatan, Monsignor Gustavo Rodríguez Vega, tested positive for covid-19 and he will absent himself from his pastoral commitments to attend to the sanitary recommendations for his health care.

In Yucatan there is a registry of 288 priests, of which at least a dozen have publicly reported their contagion by covid-19, without deaths from the pandemic, although at least one of them remains in intensive care in a private clinic.

According to a press release issued by the Archdiocese of Yucatán, the health of the Archbishop originally from Monterrey, Nuevo León is stable and he is in good spirits.
