Apple TV + has revealed the first trailer and release date for the new version of‘The coast of mosquitoes’ (The Mosquito Coast), television series starring Justin Theroux (‘The Leftovers’) and based on the novel of the same name by Paul Theroux (Justin’s uncle).

The series, developed by Neil Cross (‘Luther’), is a gripping adventure drama centered on the dangerous journey of the idealistic and brilliant inventor Allie Fox (Theroux), who travels with his family to Mexico when they suddenly find themselves on the run from the US government. United States: Under his guidance, his new home becomes a paradise thanks to his inventions, but soon his mind begins to crumble.

Along with the Emmy winner, the cast of this adaptation is made up of Melissa George (‘The Eddy’), Logan Polish (‘The Astronaut Farmer’), Gabriel Bateman (‘Lights Out’) and Kimberly Elise (‘Ad Astra’). The seven episodes that make up the first season are executive produced by Neil Cross with Rupert Wyatt, who is also the director of the first two episodes.

Also participating as executive producers are Paul and Justin Theroux, Edward L. CmDonnell, Alan Gasmer, Peter Jaysen and Bob Bookman of Veritas Entertainment Group, with Freemantle Production serving as the series producer. The premiere of the first two episodes will arrive on Friday, April 30, followed by new episodes every Friday on Apple TV +.

The film featured a 1986 film adaptation directed by Peter Weiry starring Harrison Ford.
