Epic Games started a legal dispute with Apple accusing it of a monopoly on issues related to the App Store. As you can imagine, this situation does not have the creators of the iPhone very happy, who now assure that Epic Games is only doing it to revitalize interest in Fortnite.
As Engadget noted, Apple released a 37-page document responding to Epic Games’ allegations. In it, they disagree with statements in which the creators of Fortnite accuse them of having an ecosystem that does not allow competition to flourish.
The interesting thing is that Apple defends itself by ensuring that Epic Games simply lit a fire and then put gasoline on it. He also ensures that everything is an attempt by Epic Games to reinvigorate interest in Fortnite. In this way, he says that the legal battle is simply a marketing move.
In case you missed it: Gabe Newell, founder of Steam and Valve, is against Apple and its anti-consumer policies.
« Epic cannot show any kind of irreparable damage, » Apple said. “Epic started a fire, put gas in it and now asks this court for help to put it out even though Epic can do it in an instant by simply following the contractual terms it has met in its relationship with Apple for years. (…) [Es parte] of an elaborate marketing campaign designed to reinvigorate interest in Fortnite, ”Apple explained.
