The Fortune ranking publishes annually the list of revenues for the 500 largest companies in the world. In the list we can consult both income and benefits and compare, at least in the economic factor, the performance of the different companies. This year, as has been customary since 2013, Apple has been in 12th position in terms of revenue and 3rd in terms of profits.
Big income and impressive profits
The 500 largest companies in the world generated $ 33.3 trillion in revenue and $ 2.1 trillion in profits in 2019. Together, this year’s Fortune Global 500 companies employ 69.9 million people worldwide and are represented by 32 countries.
This is how the Fortune Global page welcomes us, where we can consult the list of income and benefits of the 500 companies that make it up. A list that this year is led by Wal-Mart, followed by Sinopec Group, State Gird, China National Petroleum and Royal Dutch Shell.
In the revenue section, Apple is in 12th position with 260,174 million dollars, a slight decrease of 2% compared to the previous year. As to net profit Apple is in third position, only preceded by Saudi Aramco and Berkshire Hathaway, with 55,256 million dollars, again a decrease of 7.2% compared to the previous year. The rise of 1924% in Hathaway is striking, precisely because they are 5.7% shareholders of the apple brand, which represents a fifth of the value of this conglomerate.
Apple has been in the top 20 positions on the Fortune Global 500 since 2013. Under Tim Cook’s leadership Apple has had a record fiscal quarter with nearly $ 60 billion in revenue and $ 11.25 billion in profit.
