At the end of the morning conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador on January 14, 2020, the president wanted to seize the opportunity and remember the career of Jorge Arvizu “El Tata”, one of the most important figures in acting and dubbing in Mexico in the mid-20th century.
«Look at that man Jorge Arvizu, don’t you have an image of him? He was imitating (sic) the voices of Don Gato and his gang, among other things, now that I talked about breakfast that he said he wanted his cocoa … »
Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s team then turned to the most popular video on YouTube when searching for Benito Bodoque, which corresponds to a clip from episode 15 titled The Long Hot Winter, in which Don Gato and his friends spend the winter at Matute’s house, and Benito gets up at dawn to ask for a glass of water.
What is also curious is that this episode became a few years ago a meme that you may or may not have seen, where Benito Bodoque had important messages to say to the public:
And since everything is cyclical, even Benito Bodoque’s meme was used in 2014 to mock then-president Enrique Peña Nieto:
In the end, AMLO remembered and thanked the support that both Jorge Arvizu and his wife gave to the 4T movement long before El Tata passed away in 2014.
Sergio López Aguirre Stanley Kubrick once said “To have a broader vision, not only see good movies, but also the bad ones” obviously I listened to him in the second and it is very funny.
