President Andrés Manuel López Obrador published a decree on Monday with which they remain eliminated import duties of vaccines against COVID-19.
The measures taken, in accordance with the explanation of the decree, are intended to facilitate importation with duty exempt from virus vaccines, as well as helping in the operation of the Mexican vaccination program. This tax is also eliminated on the importation of aluminum tanks for oxygen for medicinal use.
On July 1, 2020, the text highlights, the General Import and Export Tax Law was also published in the DOF, which establishes tariff rates on merchandise entering and leaving the national territory, which was published until December 2020. However, this new decree removes vaccines and oxygen tanks from this list.
This decree will enter into force one day after its publication in the DOF, that is, on Tuesday. In addition, what has been published will be in force until health authorities determine that the health contingency due to the coronavirus epidemic in the country has ended.
