This was because it transpired that Amazon retracted and on Friday afternoon said that the email urging its staff to remove TikTok from their phones was an error.
“This morning’s email to some of our employees was sent by mistake. (…) There are no changes to our policies at this time regarding TikTok, ”said a Seattle-based tech spokesperson quoted by CNN.
His words correspond to what was said in the email that was broadcast through various channels in which he asks employees to remove the application from their phones for security reasons.
“Due to security risks, the TikTok app is no longer allowed on mobile devices that access Amazon email. (…) If you have TikTok on your device, you must delete it before July 10 to retain mobile access to Amazon email. At this time, it is allowed to use TikTok from the browser on your Amazon laptop, « said the email reported by The New York Times journalist Taylor Lorenz.
In this sense, the spokesperson quoted by CNN detailed that the corresponding area was not consulted before sending said notification, so they decided to rectify.
