President Alberto Fernandez , arrived in Mexico accompanied by the first lady, Fabiola Yanez, to participate in one of the ceremonies to commemorate the 200 years of independence, to which he was specially invited by his peer, Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
The Head of State arrived at 9:45 a.m. (Argentina time, 6 a.m. in Mexico) at the “Benito Juárez” international airport, in the Federal District, where he was received by the Minister of Foreign Relations, Marcelo Ebrard and by the Argentine ambassador in that country, Carlos Tomada.
The delegation will be made up of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, Felipe Solá ; and Economy, Martin Guzman; the deputy chief of staff, Cecilia Todesca ; the General Secretaries of the Presidency, Julio Vitobello ; of Strategic Affairs, Gustavo Beliz ; and Communication and Press, Juan Pablo Biondi ; the national deputy Carlos Selva and the presidential advisor Ricardo Forster.
Alberto Fernández’s agenda
Fernández will start the activity at 1:00 p.m. at the Hotel Intercontinental Presidente Mexico City, where he will lead a meeting with Mexican businessmen who have investments in Argentina.
At 18:20 he will visit the « Liomont » laboratory, in the city hall of Cuajimalpa de Morelos, where the manufacturing and packaging process of the vaccine to combat COVID-19 developed by the University of Oxford and the company AstraZeneca and whose production for Latin America is carried out in the Argentine laboratory mAbxience.
Accompanied by the director of Liomont, Alfredo Rimochi, the president will visit several rooms of the pharmaceutical plant, including the cold rooms of the component shipped from Argentina.
Meeting with intellectuals
Later, around 9 pm, he will share a meeting with intellectuals at the headquarters of the Argentine Embassy.
On Tuesday morning, at approximately 9:45 a.m., Fernández will travel to the National Palace, headquarters of the Federal Executive Power, where he will be received by his Mexican counterpart at the Puerta de Honor. Both leaders will hold a brief meeting in the presidential office, then they will offer a joint press conference and later they will share a working breakfast with the foreign ministers. Then, accompanied by the presidential entourage, Fernández will participate in the Patio de Honor of an act to commemorate the anniversary of the death of former president Francisco I. Madero, who was assassinated in 1913, the victim of a coup d’état.
Meeting with Carlos Slim
The Argentine president has scheduled a meeting at 2:45 p.m. with businessman Carlos Slim, after which he will lead two more meetings with businessmen in the Bosques Room of the Intercontinental Hotel (the first of them, with Argentines).
The agenda will continue in the Old City Hall, at approximately 6:30 p.m., where he will hold a meeting with the Head of Government of Mexico City, Claudia Sheinbaum, who will then preside over a ceremony where he will declare Fernández Distinguished Guest.
Later, the Argentine president will be received, in the Senate, by the presidents of that body, Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar; and from the Chamber of Deputies, Dulce María Sauri Riancho; and will hold a meeting with the head of the Political Coordination Board, Ricardo Monreal Ávila, and with the coordinators of the parliamentary groups. The activity will culminate with a solemn session in which the entire Argentine delegation will participate, scheduled for 8:40 p.m.
Dinner at the embassy
To end the day, the President will share a dinner at the Argentine Embassy with the first lady, Felipe Solá, Carlos Tomada, Marcelo Ebrard and his wife, Rosalinda Bueso.

On Wednesday, the presidential delegation will head to the city of Iguala de la Independencia, in the state of Guerrero, where it will be held, around 3:30 p.m., the central act for the 200 years of the promulgation of the Iguala Plan, milestone that laid the foundations for Mexico’s independence.
At the express invitation of his Mexican counterpart, Fernández will be one of the speakers at the ceremony, which will take place in Cerro del Tehuehue. Prior to López Obrador’s presentation, the governor of the State of Guerrero and the general director of the National Institute of Anthropology and History will also speak.
At the end of the activity, the Argentine Head of State will carry out a visit to the Museum of Flags and Sanctuary of the Fatherland, where you will observe an exhibition on the history of Mexican flags accompanied by López Obrador and his wife, Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, and by the foreign ministers of both countries.
During this year, Mexico will carry out 15 commemorations to celebrate the bicentennial of its independence, 500 years of Indigenous Resistance Y seven centuries of history of Mexico Tenochtitlán.
The Argentine delegation, led by the President, will return on Wednesday night.
