Age of Empire 2 Definitive Edition receives an update that will add a Battle Royale mode

The strategy saga par excellence also adapts to the new times including a Battle Royale.

It has been one year since the arrival of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition and since Microsoft have announced on their official blog new plans for the game including a peculiar and surprising feature: you will receive a battle royale mode which aims to give another point of view to one of the most reputable strategy sagas in history.

Age of Empire II Definitive Edition takes a radical turn with its new Battle Royale modeIn this Age of Empires-style Battle Royale mode, up to eight players will face each other, on five special maps, with the aim of trying to be the last standing. Each participant has two hero units and will have to explore the map in search of buildings and resources, although any other player can destroy them, eliminating the defenses. The more resources we have, the more spam units the adversaries will receive to complicate things. Of course, the stage will see its size reduced, so the tactic will have to be kept in mind more than ever.

Another novelty that the update will include will be called Quick Play, which allows players to quickly set game type and map preferences to create games more quickly and easily. The patch also fixes balance issues and other bugs.

You can already try this particular Battle Royale mode for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. And if you want to review the saga, here we order them from worst to best.
