The competitive fighting game scene has been hit hard this year. We first learned that the EVO 2020 would be carried out digitally due to the complications caused by the pandemic. Unfortunately, the ultimate fighting game event was canceled after scandals involving one of its organizers. All this, coupled with the fact that there would be no E3 2020, made the developers run out of a place to show the news they are preparing for their games. Faced with this situation, several companies decided to join and shortly they will carry out a special transmission full of news.
Recently, several Japanese distributors involved in fighting games, such as Capcom, Bandai Namco, Koei Tecmo, SNK, Arika and Arc System Works, announced that they will be organized to carry out the Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable event, a broadcast that will consist of, as its name implies, at a round table of fighting games.
The event will be broadcast live on July 31 at 7:00 PM (Mexico City time) through various channels of the developers involved, such as the Bandai Namco Twitch channel, or the channel of Capcom Fighters YouTube. Members of each company, including Street Fighter V director and producer Takayuki Nakayuma and Shuuhei Matsumoto, respectively, and Katsuhiro Harada, executive of Bandai Namco, will be in the broadcast.
In case you missed it: Katsuhiro Harada could start streaming on Twitch.
There will be important announcements of various fighting games during the event
According to the information, (via Gematsu), in this event, those in charge of fighting games such as Fighting EX Layer, Guilty Gear, Soulcalibur VI, TEKKEN 7, Street Fighter V and Dead or Alive 6 will speak on topics previously chosen by the fans of the games and its competitive section.
The best thing is that there will also be important revelations about these titles. According to Destructoid, Bandai Namco will release news about TEKKEN 7 and Soulcalibur VI at the event. Arc System Works will not be left behind, as it is expected to present the trailer for a new character that will be available in Guilty Gear Strive.
So far, these are the only companies that have confirmed that they will make announcements of their games, but it is very likely that the others will also reveal news. We invite you to keep an eye on LEVEL UP, because here we will inform you of everything that is announced.
