The theme of multiverse keep giving what to talk about in Spider-man 3, Tom Holland’s next movie. Following the reveal that Jamie Foxx would return in his role as Electro, some anticipated other characters from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 would return.
That is not the case with Dane dehaan, who plays Harry Osborn / Green Goblin in the 2014 movie. In an interview with Radio Times, the actor denied rumors of a possible return to Spider-Man 3. Dehaan mentioned that while he would like to make another superhero movie, he has no idea how it would happen.
“I like to make superhero movies or in that kind of world and I am sure that I will find myself on that path again,” said the actor. “I have no idea what they’re doing with the Spider-Man movies right now, but I really don’t understand a world where that would be possible,” he mentioned.
Dehaan’s Green Goblin didn’t sound like in the ‘Spider-Man 3’ rumors

Apparently the actor is a bit disconnected of the multiverse theme, since anything is possible for Marvel if you take that path. Either way, the return of Dehaan’s Green Goblin hasn’t been one of the most rumored themes in Spider-Man 3.
The Jon Watts-directed film would have Jamie Foxx and Alfred Molina in their roles as Electro and Doctor Octopus. On the superhero side it is rumored strongly the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. Although there is no confirmation, Sony does not deny it. It is also mentioned that Kirsten Dunst would return to play Mary Jane.
If the calculations are correct, Spider-Man 3 would be released on December 17, 2021. The Sony and Marvel Studios film was hit by the COVID-19 pandemic and its long-awaited filming began in November. Both companies maintain a deathly silence regarding the plot and the possible implications of the multiverse.
It is clear that Marvel Studios wants to address this issue since it is the basis of Phase 4 of its cinematic universe. It will be interesting to see how it is executed and the importance that they will give to the actors of other films. It would be a shame if so many months of rumors materialized in a cameo of just a few seconds.
