Valencian television usually has large audience data during the month of March, and it is all due to the festival of Las Fallas in Valencia and La Magdalena in Castellón. This year, despite not being possible to hold events typical of these festivals due to the pandemic that is spreading throughout the world, À Punt has decided to recover the essence of these celebrations.
The Valencian regional channel has prepared special programs entitled ‘Mascletaes per a la història’, which will be broadcast on À Punt from March 1 to March 19, coinciding with the dates on which « les mascletaes » are usually shot from the Plaza del Ayuntamiento de Valencia during the celebration of Las Fallas.
Recovering the essence of the party
In these special programs, which will be broadcast from Monday to Sunday from 1:40 p.m., the best « mascletaes » of the last 30 years will be reviewed, that are recorded in the archive since the first broadcast on Channel 9, and each day one of them will be remembered, which may be both from the Valencian festival and from the Castellón.
Máximo Huerta, Maria Fuster and Ferran Cano, regulars of Valencian television, will be the ones who will be in charge of these special programs, in which not only the recorded mascletà will be broadcast, but it will also feature interviews with people related to the two festivals of the Valencian Community, recovering the essence that is felt in the streets, and that this year will not be lived due to the health crisis.
