a former head of the Agrarian Federation will be Secretary of Agriculture

The lawyer and former head of the Argentine Agrarian Federation (FAA), Jorge Alberto Solmi , was appointed Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, replacing the outgoing official Julián Echazarreta, who held the position from the beginning of the minister’s term Louis basterra .


At the same time, he was appointed Luciano Zarich in the position of National Director of Agricultural Commercial Control, replacing Marcelo Rossi.


The designations were made official through decree 121/2021 published today in the Official Gazette.


As reported by the agricultural portfolio, the former president of the Argentine Cooperatives Association (ACA), Echazarreta, had previously submitted his resignation for personal reasons to Basterra, leading to the appointment of Solmi, who currently served as director of the Buenos Aires Guarantee Fund ( Fire ).


The lawyer and also ex-provincial deputy of the Sergio Massa Renovation Front, chaired the Agrarian Affairs Commission of the Chamber of Deputies of the Province of Buenos Aires and was vice president of the Branch Parchment of the Argentine Agrarian Federation (FAA), among other activities related to the sector.


For his part, Zarich, a native of the Cordovan town of Arias, is a public accountant and has extensive experience in areas related to agricultural production, and had already served in the ranks of the Ministry in the position of National Director of Registration and Inspection.
