You made an amazing TikTok, and you know it’s going viral. So you upload it, and it gets no views. Or maybe it starts gaining some momentum, then stops. When your video is a flop, it can be discouraging, especially if other content creators in your niche are getting more success. So, let’s look at some possible reasons why your videos may be getting so few views. Quick solution: buy TikTok views with Apple Pay using SocialsUp.

    You Don’t Have a Hook

Even if your video is short already, viewers won’t be interested if there’s no hook within the first few seconds. These few seconds are what people will see when they’re scrolling TikTok, and if the video does not look interesting, they won’t watch. If fewer people are watching than not, TikTok’s algorithm will assume the video isn’t engaging enough.

Your hook can take the form of text overlays explaining the video’s premise, an interesting visual, or another hook. Look at your competition’s successful videos, see how they handle the first few seconds, and adjust accordingly.

Shadowbanned Due to A Community Guidelines Violation

Back in the day, if you broke the community guidelines, you’d get a notification, your video would be deleted, and you’d get penalized in some way. However, TikTok may suppress your video’s reach instead of penalizing your account.

Obviously, content that is NSFW, violent (NSFL,) or deals with sensitive issues can be problematic for the algorithm. But sometimes, it can just be things taken out of context, like saying the word “die” in a harmless way. Many TikTok users have developed what’s called “algospeak,” where they use strange words or phrases to skirt past potentially banned terms and hashtags. For example, saying “corn” instead of “porn,” or saying “unalive” instead of “suicide.” That being said, these terms can be seen as taking sensitive topics and making jokes out of them. When in doubt, try not to be controversial on your business account.

    Your Engagement Signals Are Weak

Always give a call-to-action (CTA) to like and comment on a video. You would think this would come naturally, but many users need the reminder. The more likes and comments you can get ealry on, the better the video will perform in the long run.

Another way you can boost your engagement signals is through replays. Clever TikTokers will make a video where the ending perfectly syncs with the beginning. In some cases, a person may watch a video a couple of times before realizing it’s looping. Not every video needs to be a perfect loop, but it can be a great way to grow.

You’re Not Posting at the Right Times

TikTok is a platform where if your target audience isn’t live when your video is new, the video may not go much further. In general, the best times are after school or work, during lunch breaks, or in the evenings.

However, this can depend on your target audience. Some of your most active fans may be online at odd hours. TikTok Analytics can help you find the peak times, and you can schedule your video accordingly.

    Your Video is Low Quality

Finally, and no one likes to hear this, but your video may be low quality. If your video is blurry, has poor lighting, garbled audio, or has choppy editing, this may turn some people off. You should spend some extra time ensuring that your video is well-lit and has clean audio, and wipe your lens so that the picture is clear.

Another example of a low-quality video is jumping on a trend without adding your own twist. It’s a tricky tightrope to follow trends while also being a trendsetter. One solution is to add your own branding and style to your videos or to have a mix of trendy videos while making your own original content.

Finally, be consistent with your branding. If your videos are in different niches, the algorithm may have a harder time categorizing you. We aren’t saying you have to make the same boring videos each day, but make sure your account has a consistent theme and branding.

    Final Thoughts

While it can be disappointing for your video to bomb, consider this an opportunity to learn. Add a better hook next time, be sure you aren’t breaking any rules, post at the right times, and ensure that your video is high quality. With enough trial and error, it is possible for your video to go viral and reach the target audience, who will be loyal followers for the long haul. Good luck with your TikTok journey!
