Davies (1-0) threw five complete episodes, allowed five hits, three runs, and retired five hitters via strikeout.
Ranger Wil Myers (2) and Dominican shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (1) blew up the fence.
Tatis Jr. threw the ball into the street in the third episode by punishing starter Jeff Samardzija’s streamer, leading two runners ahead.
Samardzija (0-1) was the one defeated in four episodes.
