Three brothers were hospitalized with minor complications after being bitten by a spider in hopes of becoming Spider-Man.
Created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko in 1962, Spider-man, also known as Peter Parker, is regularly portrayed as a teenager who, through the effects of a radioactive spider bite, gains extraordinary powers. Since then, he has become one of the most popular heroes of Marvel, appearing in comics, animated series, video games, and various film adaptations. The story that we leave you below is a reminder of the influence that these characters can have on young and impressionable minds.
According to the New York Post, the three children, ages 12, 10 and 8, from Bolivia’s Chayanta province, found a black widow spider while they were with their goats. Thinking that they would gain the same powers as Spider-Man, the three boys bothered the spider enough that they were all bitten by it.
Luckily, the story has a happy ending.
The children were found by their mother, who took them to a nearby medical center for treatment after realizing what had happened.
After being transferred to a children’s hospital, the children spent five days recovering from the effects of the bite and were released last Wednesday. Fortunately, all three appear to be fully recovered. Black widows are one of the most feared spiders in the world and, according to National Geographic, they are the most poisonous species on the American continent. With a poison 15 times more powerful than a rattlesnake. Furthermore children are particularly vulnerable to bites. So thanks to the quick action of the mother and the toilets they can preserve life.
While Spider-Man waits to continue his adventures in both comics and movies. So it is better to enjoy it in that format than to be bitten by a life-threatening spider. I hope that this story serves so that no other child gets bitten by a spider. Since you can end the experience in the worst possible way.
