Hours after she was reported missing, the body of young swimmer Chinnel Brown was found in Rockaway Beach (Queens, NYC).
« I’m not going to see my Chinnel again, » her mother, Delrose McFarlane Bingham, commented disconsolately to the New York Post.
Authorities said the body of the 21-year-old, a Brownsville, Brooklyn, resident was found on the shore near Beach 136th Street and Rockaway Beach Boulevard around 9:50 a.m. of Saturday.
“She was always so sweet. Always smiling. Always. Always always, ”emphasized the grieving mother Saturday night from her home in Brooklyn.
She added that she saw her daughter for the last time on Thursday « because we were together at home that day. »
Another woman was saved after police and firefighters responded to calls from swimmers missing on the beach that day.
TO a surfer he was credited with helping to lift the unidentified survivor from the water, police said. That news raised the hopes of Brown’s family until the tragedy was known on Saturday, when weather conditions allowed the search to resume.
